What are we?
We are part of a unique network of CLCs funded by the DfES as a shared resource for all partner schools. As such, our remit is clear
to provide, develop and resource unique and innovative teaching and learning opportunities for ALL Halton pupils and, by extension, for their teachers, parents and the wider community
to promote the adoption and application of new technologies in ALL subject areas
to act as a testbed for new technologies: we want to harness the power of ICT in ways that make learning an illuminating, enjoyable and, above all, rewarding experience for as many people as possible
to improve education standards and skill levels
to share best practice amongst the local network of educators
How will we do this?
Our purpose built, state of the art facilities can be booked by all secondary and primary groups in Halton. They are a free resource for all partner schools and many youth and community groups.
We have a core team responsible for identifying technologies, developing and delivering educational projects that use them effectively and supporting your use of our facilities.
We will provide training opportunities to all partners. This will range from ECDL qualification to whiteboard training to software specific courses.

We liaise closely with Local Authority consultants and providers to ensure that our projects meet curriculum objectives and have a real effect on attainment.

How do I take part?
You can book our facilities or trainers by calling us on 0151 257 7258 or
e-mailing bookings@widnesclc.co.uk. Choose from the projects outlined on our website, or download the case studies of our previous projects. If the project you want to do is not there, call us and we’ll design it with you. Alternatively, look at our resource list: do you want to use our PDAs or proscopes with your class.? Have you got an exciting use for our video-conferencing facilities?
Our projects typically last for a half or full day and our projects officer will even arrange transport for your group.
We look forward to working with you and your classes.
